Guild Master – The Guild Master arbitrates over disagreements, sets the rules, recruits, and schedules raids. The Guild Master is not a babysitter.

Deputy – What would be considered an officer in most guilds, but less formal. Being in a smaller guild this is more of someone who helps out a lot and serves as a backup for when the Guild Master is not around. Deputies keep a hand on the guild's pulse and let the Guild Master know if something is amiss that she should be aware of. Deputy responsibilities include inviting alts to the guild (and labeling who they are an alt of in the officer notes) and organizing raids in the absence of the Guild Master. They're the equivalent of a forum moderator.

Deputy Alt – Alts of the Deputies…

Raider S/M / Raider W/T – Raiders are the lifeblood of the guild and attend a minimum of 75% of raids (it sounds like a lot, but that's only three nights every two weeks). They are geared, understand their class/spec, and know how to not stand in fires, poison clouds, and other bad things. They are the purpose of this guild existing. Raiders are also expected to read the forums on a regular basis since all policies will be listed there.

Member – These are friends and family of the Raiders. We do not recruit for this rank. It's by invitation-only. Members do not raid unless we happen to have an opening that night and they are geared to do so. It's possible for a Member may be promoted to Raider if they demonstrate that they have the appropriate level of performance. The Member will be expected to apply on the forums as anyone would for the position that is open.

Alternate – Alts of the guildies, both Raider and Member.

Trial – These are new recruits. Raider-Trials must raid with the guild for at least three raids after which they will be evaluated for promotion to Raider rank. Evaluation of a Trial's World of Logs parse is part of this process. We'll be looking not only at damage/healing done, but whether or not the Trial followed assignments, dispels done (if applicable), and how early and often the applicant died outside of a called wipe (to wean out the people who regularly stand in fires). Tanks are more likely to be evaluated based on ease of healing, ability to adjust to fight situations, communication, and of course the ‘oh crap’ moments. Member-Trials need to be active for at least two weeks and demonstrate they have a personality before being promoted to Member. If you've been a Member-Trial for more than two weeks it's probably because the Guild Master hasn't seen enough of you to know who you are and thus give you privileges.

We are a small guild so it's incredibly important that we are happy with the people we invite. Trials are welcome to roll on loot, however they may be asked to pass if the item in question is a significant upgrade for one of our regular Raiders. If we think a Trial's performance isn't quite where it should be, but we like the Trial and think there's room for improvement, the Trial may be invited on as a Member (with the opportunity to raid when there's space in the roster) while continuing to gear and learn how to tank/dps/heal better.

Inactive – Members considered to still be of good standing with the guild, but may be currently on hiatus from the game/guild.
