Raid Administration

These are the rules for how raids are run and what all Raiders must abide by:

1) Roster Size

Be Your True Mind runs with a roster of between 11 and 12, comprised of two tanks, two main spec healers, an off-spec healer and seven straight dps, with at least two of those dps maintaining off-specs to serve as a back-up tank or healer. This allows some flexibility for people to be absent on any given day without hampering the raid's ability to run.

2) Call time is 5 minutes prior to raid start.

To ensure that the raid begins rolling on time, you are expected to show five minutes early to allow time for invites, travel, getting items out of the bank, etc. If you are not online by then, and the raid is full, then you are considered to be benched for the night. If you are online but do not accept the invite because of being afk, in another group, or not accepting on the calendar (tentative doesn't count), and the raid fills without you, then you are benched. Invites will be issued based off the in-game calendar.

3) Benching

If more than 10 people are online and accept the invite at 5 minutes prior to raid start, then we will first ask for volunteers to sit. Tanks and healers can be benched as well. However, we will avoid scenarios where we end up benching two regular healers at the same time, and definitely avoid both tanks.

If there are no volunteers, then there will be a roll-off. Lowest roller sits for the night. If you volunteer you will not be benched again until every other person in the roster has been sat (unless raid composition needs dictate otherwise). The same goes if you are benched because of a roll-off. The benefit of volunteering is you can better control the content you are skipping and when you are skipping.

The Guild Master will keep track of how many times someone has sat out in a thread on the website. If you are late, absent, or otherwise miss the raid call invite you will not qualify for the website tally since this is to prevent people who show up on time from being benched too often. You can't volunteer to sit out on a night you were already late for or weren't going to attend.

** Volunteers to sit will only qualify for the website tally if they remain contactable and available if needed for the duration of the raid. **

The bench tally will be cleared whenever a new tier of content is released.

4) No raiding with a bad attitude

If you're upset, don't start pissing in people's cornflakes. The raid is put together to have fun, so don't ruin it for others. It puts everyone in a bad mood. If you rage quit during the raid, thereby ruining the evening everyone else set aside for some boss-killing, it will be an instant demotion to Member. You've been warned.

If real life drama is spilling into your enjoyment of WoW, get help and/or take a break before you bring everyone else down with you. Don't feel obligated to raid if life needs you somewhere else (just let us know).

5) Raids will have two scheduled breaks on the hour

Breaks will last for 5 minutes and players will be expected to come back on time. If you need to put out the dog, get your laundry, use the toilet, grab drinks, etc. you are to use the break time to do that and not disappear during the raid to take care of something you had to do earlier or anticipate you will have to do in the near future. If you stayed on vent to chat during break and need to do something later it's your own fault.

If you are more than 5 minutes late back from break, you will be replaced. If this happens on a night that we do not have an extra person to fill your spot, you will be benched for the next raid with sufficient numbers to require someone to be sat, without it counting towards the benched tally.

6) Post in the absentee thread or start your own as soon as you think you may be unavailable

We want to avoid situations where we are very close to being able to field a full raid and then suddenly at the last minute (Friday night before a Saturday raid, for example) someone says can't make it and we have to cancel. Yes, friends and relatives unexpectedly come into town, vehicles break down, and other bad stuff, but if we need to call in a back-up or someone has to rearrange their schedule for the sake of making the raid go on, we don't want to find out someone is going to be absent after all the schedule juggling has happened.

We have Members who are perfectly happy, even eager, for a chance to do some occasional raiding if there's a chance to do so, but because they are not regular Raiders we need to be able to give them advance notice, the earlier the better. Even if it's just that you "might" be absent, post that possibility so we can make arrangements if necessary. It's unlikely we will have multiple Raiders absent all at the same time, but it has happened in the past.

7) Attendance

While there is a 75% attendance policy, we recognize that at times there may be a short term change in your schedule (such as for college or work) that compromises your ability to meet this requirement for a specified window of time. In this case, based on loyalty and dedication (as evidenced through reliable attendance and performance i.e. meeting or exceeding expectations in your obligations to the raid group, prior to this change in schedule), you will be afforded the opportunity to raid 25% of the time, and after your schedule changes back so you can make 75% or better, you will return to your full time raid slot. This ensures that an otherwise valued Raider will not be replaced in the raid roster, unless their position remains untenable beyond that specified time.

8) Consequences

If any of the following occur 3 or more times in any 8 week period, you will be benched for the next raid with sufficient numbers to require someone to be sat, without it counting towards the benched tally:

• Not being online and ready to accept the invite at call time (in addition to being benched if the raid is already full when you do make yourself available)
• Being late back from break (in addition to potentially being replaced during, or sat from, a raid for being excessively late)
• Missing raid and failing to post on the absentee thread in ‘Group Scheduling’

This may seem strict, but already running on a limited raid schedule means that 5 minutes of lost raid time - for any reason - matters, every time.
